CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College's
Emma Langley and
Daviciea McCartney grabbed more recognition from the Gulf South Conference. Langley is the women's track performer and freshman of the week while McCartney grabbed the same honors on the men's side, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday, April 21.

Langley won the 800 meters with a stadium record time of 2:13.44 at the Belhaven Invitational. She also anchored the winning 4x400 relay, which also set the meet record with a time of 4:03.80.

McCartney was a two-time winner at the Belhaven Invitational. He claimed the title in the long jump with a PR and stadium record leap of 7.17 meters (23'6.25") - the second best mark in the conference this season - and was on the winning 4x100 relay with a meet record time of 41.35. He also finished third in the 110 hurdles with a provisional time of 14.47, which is second in the conference.

This marks the fifth weekly accolade for Langley in her career and fourth this season. She was named the conference's track performer of the week on March 24 and earned freshman of the week on April 7.

This marks the fourth weekly honor for McCartney this season as well. He was tabbed the track performer of the week on March 10. Earlier this season he grabbed field performer of the week (Feb. 3).

The Lady Choctaws' program has grabbed weekly honors 10 times this season while the Choctaws have nine.
