CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men and women's outdoor track and field teams concluded its home slate on Thursday, April 22 at the Interstate-20 Twilight Invitational.

Mississippi College returns to action on Thursday, April 29 as it travels to Montevallo, Ala., for the first day of the Gulf South Conference Championship. The three-day event concludes on Saturday, May 1.
EVENT CHAMPIONSHIPS

Jazmin Hernandez claimed the women's 1,500 meters title with a time of 4:35.55.

Jake Russell took the crown in the men's 800 meters with a time of 1:52.21.
-
Ava Dickerson led a trio of Lady Choctaws in the 5,000 meters as she turned in a time of 19:33.58.
-
Tytavia Hardy won the women's triple jump. She turned in a distance of 12.41 meters (35'11.25").
-
Zach McManus took the top spot in the men's triple jump with a leap of 13.56 meters (43' 1.75").
-
A.B. Williams won the men's shot put with a toss of 14.87 meters (48' 9.50").
TOP 10 FINISHES (MEN)
-
Al Ferrill finished second with a throw of 14.48 meters (47' 6.25") in the shot put.
Damon Wright finished fourth in the event with a throw of 13.50 meters (44' 3.50").
-The 4x100 relay quartet of
Will Grames,
Rakeem Wilson,
Daviciea McCartney and
Fabio Palmieri took bronze with a time of 41.35.
-Six Choctaws finished in the top 10 of the 1,500 meters led by
Gabe Poulin with a time of 4:00.92 to claim silver in the event.
Alec Beers finished fourth with a time of 4:04.07 followed by
Adam Gomez in fifth with a 4:07.50.
Chris Webber placed sixth with a time of 4:10.25 with
Caleb Hall one spot back with a time of 4:11.06.
Peyton Brassfield wrapped up the group in eighth as he clocked a 4:12.31.

Dalton Dempsey turned in a fourth-place finish in the 400 meters as he turned in a time of 48.53.
-McCartney finished third in the 110 hurdles as he clocked-in with a 14.57.
-A trio of Choctaws finished in the top 10 of the 100 meters. Palmieri turned in a fourth-place finish with 10.82 with
Rakeem Wilson one spot back in fifth. Grames finished sixth with a time of 10.90.
-Hall finished seventh in the 800 with a time of 2:00.47 while
Allen Fletcher was eighth with a 2:00.83.
Jacob Britt finished ninth with a time of 2:01.82.
-The Choctaws had two teams in the 4x400 relay. The quartet of Palmieri, Dempsey, Wilson and McCartney finished second with a time of 3:11.03. The grouping of Grames, Russell,
Connor Stewart and
Logan Lucas came in sixth with a time of 3:19.96.
-McManus finished third in the long jump as he turned in a distance of 6.78 meters (22" 3") while Stewart was sixth with 6.35 meters (20'10").

Mason Quimby finished third in the high jump as he posted a jump of 1.80 meters (5'10.75").
TOP 10 FINISHES (WOMEN)

Caroline Perry took silver in the 5,000 meters with a 19:54.06 while
Shelby Dean was third in the event with a time of 20:55.10.

Autumn Frost finished third in the shot put with a throw of 11.52 meters (37' 9.50").
Kiara Vance finished fifth with a toss of 11.20 meters (36' 9").

Elizabeth Speed finished third in the 1,500 meters as she posted a time of 5:23.48.

Kylie Smith took bronze in the 800 with a time of 2:32.95.
-Hardy finished third in the high jump with a leap of 1.50 meters (4'11") while
Ryleigh Borbash was fourth in the event.

Ereyonna Gore finished fourth in the 400 meters as she clocked a time of 58.80 while Meghen Beccera was seventh with a 1:01.46.
