CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College outdoor track and field team sent took nine student-athletes to compete in the Lee University Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday, May 15.
Tytavia Hardy and the men's 4x400 relay each grabbed event wins on the day.

Hardy posted the leap of 12.46 meters to take the women's triple jump. The mark is a season-best for the Pensacola, Fla., native and is currently the 12th best distance nationally. The sophomore finished third in the long jump with a distance of 5.57 meters.

The quartet of
Fabio Palmieri,
Dalton Dempsey,
Rakeem Wilson and
Daviciea McCartney posted a time of 3:14.13. McCartney, Wilson, Palmieri along with
Will Grames posted a time of 41.99 in the 4x100 to finish seventh.

McCartney added to his busy day with a third-place finish in the 400 hurdles with a time of 52.51. Palmieri, Grames and Dempsey added to their ledger as they competed in the men's 200 meters. Palmieri finished ninth in the event with a time of 21.48. Grames finished 32nd (22.40) while Dempsey was 39th (22.65).

Jake Russell turned in a time of 1:52.44 to finish 16th in the 800 meters.
Evan del Rio clocked a time of 9:14.70 in the 3,000-steeplechase to finish 17th.

Mississippi College awaits to see who makes the cut for the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Nationals are set for Allendale, Mich., and hosted by Grandy Valley State University. The three-day event begins on Thursday, May 27.
