JOPLIN, Mo. --- The Mississippi College men's cross country team turned in a fourth-place finish at the Missouri Southern State Stampede on Saturday, Sept. 18. MC placed three runners in the top 20, including
Gabe Poulin inside the top 10.

Poulin finished ninth overall as he posted a time of 24:59.68. The time marked his second 8K time under the 25-minute mark this season.

Christian Balcer turned in a time of 25:11.58 in 16th while
Hunter Kurz rounded out the top 20 trio in 20th with a time of 25:21.00.

Evan del Rio and
Cole Benoit finished right behind each other. Del Rio finished 29th with a time of 25:38.31 while Benoit was one spot back with a 25:38.32.

Braedon Methvin finished 37th with a time of 25:46.94 while
Brock Kelly posted a time of 26:12.58 and 46th-place.

A pair of Division II program held the top two spots in the team standings. Pittsburg State was the top team in the 8K race with a total time of 2:05.02 while the host posted a compiled time of 2:04.59. St. Mary (Kan.) was third with a time of 2:06.27.

Missouri Southern's Ryan Riddle and JP Rutledge were the top two finishers. Riddle was first with a time of 24:14.00 while Rutledge had a time of 24:23.16. The University of Nebraska at Kearney's Myles Bach was third with a 24:39.05.

Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 25 for the Lake Charles Toyota Cowboy Stampede hosted by McNeese University.
