JOPLIN, Mo. --- The Mississippi College women's cross country team finished 11th at the Missouri Southern State Stampede on Saturday, Sept. 18.
Jazmin Hernandez posted a school record in the 5K race to lead the Choctaws in the loaded field.

Hernandez clocked-in with a time of 17:47.69 as she claimed 17th place.

Josie Whipp was the second, top finisher for the Navy and Gold as she posted a time of 18:15.10 and finished 38th overall.
Madeline Campbell added a time of 18:29.71 to finish 52nd.

Emily Berry garnered a time of 19:00.25 to finish 84th while Bre Bell was three spots back with a time of 19:01.79.
Norma Gutierrez finished 93rd with a time of 19:09.50. Â
Lauren Wallace finished out the top seven, MC finishers with a time of 19:34.01 (126th).

The University of Arkansas claimed the team title with a score of 38. The Razorback compiled a team time of 1:26.28. Division II's Southwest Baptist University and Dallas Baptist University claimed second and third respectively. Southwest Baptist finished second with 130 points and time of 1:29.22 followed by DBU with 140 points (1:30.04).

Fellow Division II member West Texas A&M University claimed the top two spots on the individual side. Florance Uwajeneza took the top spot with a time of 16:43.52 while Eleonora Curtabbi posted a time of 16:44.84. Arkansas' Gracie Hyde finished third with a time of 16:59.44.

Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 25 for the Lake Charles Toyota Cowboy Stampede hosted by McNeese University.
