LAKE CHARLES, La. --- The Mississippi College women's cross country team competed at the Lake Charles Toyota Cowboy Stampede on Saturday, Sept. 25. The Choctaws were the lone non-Division I program to take to the course on Saturday.

Ava Dickerson led Mississippi College with a time of 19:04.2 as she turned in a 20th-place finish.
Caroline Perry clocked a time of 19:54.4 in 25th.
Rachel Faulk posted a time of 20:16.0 in 30th while
Leslie Baxter was one spot back with a time of 20:19.6.

The Choctaw quartet all reset their career-best's in the 5K race.

The University of Houston took the top spot for the teams as it compiled a score of 40 points. McNeese University finished in second in its home meet with 50 points while Lamar University was third with 85 points.

Houston Baptist University's Jessica Rabius won the women's 5K race. Rabius turned in a time of 17:26.6. McNeese's Aurelia Jepkorir finished second with a time of 17:27.8 while UH's Darby Gauntt was third as she clocked a 17:28.2.

Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 2 as it travels to Louisville, Ky., for the Greater Louisville Classic.
