UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. --- The Mississippi College men and women's cross-country teams will be represented on the national stage as they compete in the NCAA Division II National Championships on Friday, Dec. 2 in Washington State.

It is the second straight season for the Choctaw men to compete on the national scene as they earned their bid with a second-place finish at the NCAA DII South Regional in Lakeland, Fla., last month. Mississippi College's own
Jan Lukas Becker won the event, stopping the clock in a course record and school-record time of 30:40.3.

Fellow Choctaws
Gabe Poulin,
Hunter Kurz, and
Christian Balcer finished in All-South Region honors. Poulin finished sixth (30:59.7) while Kurz topped out in 11th (31:12.1), and Balcer in 21st (31:47.9).
Braedon Methvin rounded out the scoring five, covering the 10K course in a time of 32:28.8, placing 33rd overall.

Jazmin Hernadez earned an at-large berth to NCAA Nationals. The Georgetown, Texas, native placed eighth at Regionals in the Sunshine State as covered the six-kilometer course in 21:50.0. The school record holder in the 5K and 6K makes her second consecutive trip to Nationals after she placed 68th a season ago.

The men's 10K is set for a Noon start with the women's 6K slated for 1:15 p.m. Both times are central.
