New Orleans, La. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team fell at Tulane by a score of 83-72 on Thursday evening (October 26th).
On the night, the Choctaws were paced by
Rashad Bolden, who led all scorers with his 30 points. The son of head coach Randy Bolden, he went 8-of-22 from the field, one triple ball, and a nearly perfect 13-of-14 from the charity stripe. The only other double digit scorer for the Blue and Gold was
Anthony Ratliff Jr. who produced 15 points of his own, going 6-of-9 from the floor and collecting a team-high eight rebounds.
On the evening, the Choctaws shot 36.4% from the field, and made five threes on 27 attempts. Additionally, MC lived at the line as they converted on 19 free throws in 25 attempts. The Choctaws won the rebounding margin against the Green Wave, 39-35, as along with Ratliff,
Judah Land pulled down seven boards to help his team out to go with his three points. each team also had 12 turnovers a piece to their name.
After Tulane went on an 8-0 run in the first three minutes of the ball game, MC ran the score back even at 15 with 11:30 to go in the opening half, and again tied at 23 with 6:46 remaining. However, the Green Wave would go an a 25-4 run to close out the half, leaving MC trailing by 21. After an 8-2 run by the Choctaws to open the final half, the Blue and Gold kept it tight to outscore the Wave by 10 in the final 20 minutes.
The men's basketball continues their preseason exhibitions with a home game against Millsaps on Wednesday, November 1st inside A.E. Wood Coliseum at 7 p.m.
