BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---The Gulf South Conference announced its men's soccer weekly award winners for Week 4 (Sept. 18-Sept. 24) of the 2023 season with Mississippi College goalkeeper, Cole Turner, being tabbed the GSC Defender of the Week.

Turner helped Mississippi College go 2-0-0 over the weekend after registering 15 saves, while only allowing one goal. In the win against Christian Brothers, the sophomore recorded eight saves and no goals in the entire 90:00 minutes of play. Against Union, Turner recorded again seven saves against eight attempts in the 2-1 win. 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nick Atkinson, Jr., M, Auburn Montgomery
 
Atkinson scored three goals over the weekend and propelled Auburn Montgomery to a 2-0-0 record over the weekend. Against Lee, the Junior scored the lone goal to help the Warhawks win 1-0. Atkinson followed up that performance with two goals against Shorter in just 46:00 minutes in a 4-1 road win.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Till Schroeder Fr., D, Montevallo

Schroeder scored one goal over the weekend and helped lead Montevallo to a 1-1-0 record. Against Shorter, the freshman scored his first career goal, while playing the full 90:00 minutes. Against Lee, the Brandon, Mississippi native played 85:00 minutes.
