LAKELAND, Fla. – Mississippi College baseball earned a spot in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association South Region Poll, coming in at No. 9 in the rankings released on Feb. 17.
The Choctaws, sporting a 6-4 record, make their debut in the regional rankings, after taking the Gulf South Conference opening series from West Alabama, including a 15-3 win the series finale on Saturday, Feb. 15.
Florida Southern (9-1) secured the top ranking with seven first-place votes, followed by Tampa (7-2) in second and Delta State (7-3) in third. Mississippi College joins fellow GSC members, UAH, who sits at No. 6 and Montevallo at No. 7.
Mississippi College will look to climb the rankings as they continue their 2025 campaign. Up next, the Choctaws face a key conference matchup with Montevallo on Friday, Feb. 20 – the opening game to a three-game series at Kermit A. Johnson Field at Bob Riesener Stadium. First pitch on Friday is 2 p.m.
