LAKELAND, Fla. --- Holland Townes added to his list of weekly honors as the Mississippi College right-hander earned National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association South Region Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the association on Tuesday, March 18.
 
The Ridgeland, Miss., native picked Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Week earlier on Tuesday.
 
Townes delivered an electrifying performance in two appearances last week, pitching eight scoreless innings while giving up just three hits and striking out nine. His standout performance came against Lee University, where he went seven frames, surrendering only two hits while striking out eight batters in a 9-1 win. The senior started the week with a flawless start inning against Ouachita Baptist University, helping the Blue and Gold to a 10-0 victory – its second shutout on the campaign.
 
With a perfect 0.00 ERA over the week, he helped the Blue and Gold to a 4-1 record on the week and a 10-game win streak – the longest since 2010.
 
Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, March 21 as it hosts Trevecca Nazarene University in a three-game, GSC series. First pitch of the series opener is 3 p.m.
