MOBILE, Ala. — Mississippi Christian (4-3-4, 1-2-4) tied Spring Hill (4-3-4, 3-1-3) 2-2 Wednesday in league play at Library Field. The Choctaws outshot Spring Hill 17-5 and put 12 shots on goal, while Spring Hill finished with four shots on frame. MC scored both of its goals in the first half, and Spring Hill recorded one goal in each half.
The Choctaws overcame an early deficit in the first half, answering Madison Hitzman's goal for Spring Hill in the second minute with two goals of their own before halftime.
Jaylen Bodry brought MC level in the 13th minute off an assist from
Michelle Melancon, and
Kerri O'Hara put The Blue and Gold ahead 2-1 in the 17th minute with
Keiran Goodman assisting. The Choctaws kept pressure on after taking the lead, with
Parker St. Amant,
Lillie McCutchen, O'Hara and
Kali Trahant all recording attempts, including saved shots from O'Hara and Trahant. Spring Hill managed one additional recorded shot in the half after its opening goal, and MC carried a 2-1 lead into halftime.
Spring Hill's Felicia Ajayi scored 29 seconds into the second half to tie the match at 2-2, forcing the Choctaws to respond quickly. MC generated the next stretch of chances, with Bodry,

Kerri O'Hara,
Olivia Graham and others putting attempts on frame that Ava Bell saved, while
Paula Catalan and St. Amant also sent shots high. The Blue and Gold also protected the tie defensively, recording a team save in the 53rd minute before
Paityn Settlemires stopped a Spring Hill shot in the 69th. Trahant added another shot on goal in the 77th minute, but Bell saved it, and the half ended with the match still tied 2-2.
The Choctaws generated seven shots to Spring Hill's two in the first half and put four attempts on goal, with Ava Bell making two saves. After Madison Hitzman scored early for Spring Hill, Bodry answered off a Melancon assist and
Kerri O'Hara scored from Goodman to send MC into halftime ahead 2-1.
The Blue and Gold generated 10 second-half shots and put eight on frame, with Ava Bell making eight saves to keep the visitors off the board after halftime. Spring Hill scored the half's only goal through Felicia Ajayi at 45:29, and Settlemires added a save as the match finished tied 2-2.
O'Hara scored one goal and led the Choctaws with four shots, putting all four on goal. Bodry added a goal on three shots, all on frame, and was credited with a game-tying score. Goodman recorded an assist for one of MC's goals. Melancon also tallied an assist.
