BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- Due to the threat of inclement weather, the Gulf South Conference has officially approved a schedule change for the upcoming 2026 baseball series between MC and West Alabama.
Originally slated for a single game on Friday followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, the two programs will now flip that structure. The series will now open with a doubleheader on Friday, Feb. 13, starting at 2 p.m. Saturday's action has been scaled back to a single game, with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. on Feb. 14.
The two teams split its six meetings last season with the Choctaws taking three of four in the regular season, but the Red and White getting the upper hand in the postseason with two victories in the GSC Tournament in Oxford.
MC enters the weekend series, coming off an 8-6 victory over in-state foe William Carey on Tuesday afternoon. The Blue and Gold rallied late to claim its fifth consecutive in the series with the Crusaders.
