DAHLONEGA, Ga. --- No. 21 MC baseball fell to No. 29 North Georgia, 10-6, on Friday, Feb. 6. MC moved to 3-2 on the season while the Nighthawks improved to 4-1.

The Choctaws totaled nine hits for the second consecutive contest and attempted a late-inning rally but the comeback fell short.

Ty Murphy recorded three hits, including a double, marking a season high, and drove in two runs for the first time this season.
Alex Johnson hit his second home run of the season and added a season-high total of two RBI.
Cade Gadman collected two hits, including a double, and drove in a run.
Bryce Speakman added a double and scored a run, reaching base twice with a hit and a walk.

MC opened the game taking a a 2-0 lead in the first inning after Johnson launched a two-run homer to left field, scoring
Tyler Sanderson, who had reached on an error. The Blue and Gold extended its lead to 3-0 as
Jake LaRocca walked and advanced on a single by Gadman. A subsequent error loaded the bases, and LaRocca scored on a fielder's choice ground out by Murphy. The Nighthawks responded with a solo home run by Kyle Robitzsch in the bottom half, cutting the lead to 3-1.

After tacking on another run in the fourth, UNG took control in the sixth inning, scoring seven runs on five hits and two errors. The rally included a two-RBI single by Schley Gordy and a series of unearned runs, giving the Nighthawks a 9-3 lead through six frames and another run in the seventh expanded the margin to seven runs

In the eighth inning, MC mounted a comeback attempt. Speakman doubled and scored on a ground out by Gadman.
Carter Wells and Murphy followed with an RBI single and double, respectively, closing the gap to 10-6, but the Choctaws were left scoreless in the ninth, closing out the contest.

Caleb Peterson (0-1) went 5.1 innings, allowing five runs on four hits, and striking out three in the start.
Blake Gollott struggled in his two-thirds of an inning of relief, giving up four runs on three hits. Matthew Heard (2-0) was effective over seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits with four strikeouts and securing the win. Avery Brown finished the game, pitching two innings and allowing three runs on three hits, but gave up two doubles.

Brady Skipper delivered an impressive performance, finishing with three hits and scoring three runs while also stealing four bases. Robitzsch stood out with a strong offensive display, recording three hits, including a home run and a double, alongside three RBI. Gordy contributed significantly with two hits and two RBI, capitalizing on his opportunities with runners in scoring position.
