CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College baseball has earned the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Division II South Region baseball rankings, the organization announced on Wednesday, April 29. The Choctaws carry a 27-22 overall record, including a 24-21 mark against regional competition, into postseason consideration.
The South Region features a deep 10-team field highlighted by top-seeded West Florida (35-13) and second-seeded Tampa (35-7), along with Rollins, West Alabama and Delta State rounding out the top five. Mississippi College is one of four Gulf South Conference programs represented, joined by West Florida, West Alabama and Delta State.
Lee (34-15), Trevecca Nazarene (30-19), Florida Southern (24-18) and Montevallo (27-23) complete the regional rankings. The Choctaws positioned themselves in the top six following a strong finish to the regular season, highlighted by key conference wins that strengthened their postseason résumé.
