BOCA RATON, Fla. — No. 10 Mississippi Christian University dropped a 3-2 decision to No. 8 Lynn on Thursday in a matchup of nationally ranked Division II men's soccer programs.

The Choctaws (0-1-0) struck first, but Lynn (1-0-0) scored twice in the second half, including the go-ahead goal in the 87th minute, to secure the victory.

Karim Gegg put Mississippi Christian on the board in the seventh minute, scoring off assists from Patrick Vukoje and Lian Feridani to give the Choctaws an early 1-0 lead.

Lynn answered in the 24th minute when Robin Muenst found the back of the net off assists from Fabian Wagner and Joao Pinto, sending the teams into halftime tied 1-1.

Mississippi Christian regained the lead in the 61st minute. Harry McLean scored his first goal of the season to put the Choctaws ahead 2-1.

Lynn responded less than four minutes later, with Muenst scoring his second goal of the match in the 65th minute to tie the game at 2-2.

The match remained level until the 87th minute, when Wagner scored the eventual game-winning goal for Lynn off assists from Rui Ferreira and Thiago De Carvalho.

Mississippi Christian had several opportunities to equalize late but could not find the tying goal.

The Choctaws finished with 12 shots, including five on goal, while Lynn recorded four shots with two on target. Santiago Dominguez made two saves in goal for Mississippi Christian.

The match featured three red cards, including two issued to Mississippi Christian. Gabriel Paes e Sa was sent off in the 65th minute, while Pierson Moyer received a red card in the 90th minute. Lynn's players received one red card during the match.

Gegg and McLean scored for the Choctaws, while Vukoje and Feridani each recorded an assist. Gegg also finished with one shot on goal.

Mississippi Christian returns to action on Sunday at 11 am versus Saint Leo in Clinton, Miss.
