CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi Christian University begins September with a busy weekend across four sports, with volleyball competing in Arkansas, both soccer programs facing weekend competition and men's and women's cross country opening their seasons at home.
Volleyball
The Mississippi Christian volleyball team travels to Arkadelphia, Arkansas, for the Reddie-Tiger Invitational at Ouachita Baptist University.
The Choctaws open the tournament Friday against Erskine at 1 p.m. before facing host Ouachita Baptist at 5 p.m.
Mississippi Christian returns to the court Saturday against Texas-Tyler at 9 a.m. and Missouri S&T at 3:30 p.m.
The four-match weekend provides Mississippi Christian with an early opportunity to test itself against a variety of opponents.
Women's Soccer
The women's soccer team begins a two-match road trip through Oklahoma.
Mississippi Christian opens the weekend Thursday at 2 p.m. against Oklahoma Christian in Edmond, Oklahoma. The Lady Choctaws then travel to Ada, Oklahoma, for a noon match against East Central on Saturday.
The two matches mark the first road contests of the season for Mississippi Christian.
Men's Soccer
The men's soccer team returns home for a pair of matches at Robert P. Longabaugh Field in Clinton.
Mississippi Christian hosts Eckerd College at 4 p.m. Friday before facing Florida Southern College at 11 a.m. Sunday.
Both opponents compete in the Sunshine State Conference, providing Mississippi Christian with a pair of early-season tests against teams from outside the Gulf South Conference.
Cross Country
The Mississippi Christian men's and women's cross country teams open their seasons Friday at the Mississippi Christian Opener at Choctaw Trails in Clinton.
Both teams are scheduled to compete at 6 p.m. in the season-opening meet.
The meet gives the Choctaws their first opportunity to compete in 2026 following the preseason period.
