CLINTON, Miss. --- Due to inclement weather in the Valdosta, Ga., area this weekend, the Mississippi College-Valdosta State baseball series schedule has shifted.

The series will start on Sunday, Feb. 7 with a doubleheader and the series finale slated for Monday, Feb. 8. First pitch both days is marked for Noon central.

The Choctaws, originally scheduled to open the season on Saturday, Feb. 6 with a twinbill in Valdosta, Ga., and the series finale the following day, will wait one more day until returning to the field for the first time since March 7, 2020.

Mississippi College was tabbed fifth in the Gulf South Conference Preseason Poll by the conference's head coaches, drawing one first-place vote. Returners
Dylan Duplechain and
Bryce Lewis headlined the conference's Watch List for the Navy and Gold while transfers
Alex Hay and
Dylan Marsh were listed among the league's top newcomers.
