BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The honors keep piling in for the Mississippi College football program, days after knocking off #5 nationally ranked West Georgia by a final score of 39-38 in a dramatic finish.

On Monday, quarterback John Henry White and defensive back Nick Grady each were recognized by Gulf South Conference office for their play of the field in Saturday's win, with White being named the GSC Freshman of the Week and Nick Grady being named the GSC Defensive Player of the Week. 

The freshman quarterback helped lead a successful second half comeback for the Choctaws, aiding with 13 rushes for 103 rushing yards and one touchdown. White averaged 7.9 yards per rush, with a long of 36 yards, including a 12 yard rush on the final scoring drive to help push the Choctaws into West Georgia territory.

Nick Grady led MC with two interceptions and two pass breakups, along with four tackles in the win. On the season, the senior out of Meridian (Miss.) has collected a total of 18 tackles, including 15 solo tackles and 6 assisted tackles, along with two interceptions, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble.

MC returns home next Saturday where they take on Shorter at home, beginning at 2 p.m. at Robinson Hale Stadium in Clinton, Miss.
