Laurendine, Platt Named CSC Academic All-District

KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- Mississippi College's Lexie Laurendine and Kendall Platt continue to add to their list of accomplishments as the duo were named to the 2022 College Sports Communicators Division II Academic All-District® Volleyball Team.

The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Nominees must have achieved sophomore standing or higher, be a starter or key reserve participating in at least 50 percent of their team's contest, and have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA.

The duo helped lead MC to the best record in program history at 23-7 and its third straight berth to the GSC Tournament.

Laurendine, who named to the D2CCA and AVCA All-Region Teams earlier in the month, etched her name into the volleyball record book as she stands the all-time assists leader with 2,881 and is one of three MC players to earn all-conference three consecutive years, as she claimed first team laurels this season.

She concludes her career ranked in the top 10 in the program in nine categories, including sets (480) and matches played (128), service aces (135), points (964.5), digs (1,054), kills (750) and block assists (117).

Along with her success on the court, she is also a four-time GSC Academic Honor Roll selection. She received her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology in May 2022 and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Athletic Administration.

Platt garnered All-GSC accolades following the 2022 campaign. It marks her first time on the all-conference list. The Anaheim, Calif., native finishes her tenure in the Clinton as the program leader in kills (1,271), points (1,500.5), service aces (164), sets played (481), and matches played (130). She also finished second in career digs (1,216).

Like her senior teammate, her success on the court was supplemented by her achievements in the classroom. She is a four-time GSC Academic Honor Roll recipient. She is set to finish her Bachelors this May with a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology.

Nominated by members of College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), the Academic All-America has honored more than 38,000 deserving student-athletes from numerous sports across all divisions since its inception in 1952.
