Lydia Paulette and
Sloane FitzHenry earned two of the Gulf South Conference's weekly awards, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

This marks the fourth award of the season for Paulette as she was tabbed GSC Offensive Player of the Week while FitzHenry picked up her first as the conference's defensive player of the week.

Paulette posted 33 kills over the course of the nine-set, three-match week on a .273 attack clip. The Tuscaloosa, Ala., native averaged 3.67 kills per set during the span, which was second in the conference. The kill total was the most in the conference in the fewest amount of sets. She also finished second in the conference in points per set (4.33) while third in total points (39.0). The junior leads the conference in total kills, kills per set, total points and points per set. She ranks third in the program record book in career kills with 903.

FitzHenry has also etched her name in the program record book as the senior ranks in the top three in each of the block categories. The Houston, Texas, native led the GSC in total blocks with 13 and blocks per set (1.44) this past week, which propelled her up the career block list. FitzHenry totaled a GSC-best four solo blocks and picked up nine block assists. She ranks in the top 15 in the conference in total blocks this season with 65. She currently resides second in program history in solo blocks (74) and is fourth in both block assists (161) and total blocks (235).

Choctaw volleyball has eight of the conference's 27 weekly awards this season, including six, conference offensive player of the week laurels.

Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 11 as it closes out the regular season in Livingston, Ala., in a conference clash with the University of West Alabama. First serve is at 1 p.m. in Pruitt Hall.
