BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- For the second consecutive week, Mississippi College's
Caroline Chastang earned Gulf South Conference Player of the Week for her efforts this past weekend on the volleyball court, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

This marks the seventh weekly award for the Bay Minette, Ala., native during her career in the Blue and Gold. She garnered five freshman of the week laurels last season en route to the GSC Freshman of the Year and all-conference second team recognition.

Chastang tallied 43 kills during the three-match streak as the Choctaw posted a 2-1 record. Her kill-total was second among conference players during the week. She also totaled 47.5 points during the stretch and finished with a team-leading 36 digs. She added three service aces, three blocks and an assist to her ledger.

The sophomore has six straight outing with double-digit kills and seven total this season. Her 134 kills this season are fourth most in the conference and second among the Choctaw team. She sits sixth among the conference leaders in points.

Mississippi College returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 26 as it faces the 16th-ranked University of West Florida. Fans are encouraged to wear white to the contest in support of the Choctaw volleyball team. First 50 students with their IDs receive a white MC volleyball shirt. First serve is at 6 p.m.
