CLINTON, Miss. — Women's golfer Ida Lundh and men's soccer player Jayce Dotson have been named MC Student-Athletes of the Week, Sponsored by Performance Therapy.

Lundh, also named GSC Freshman of the week, compiled a score of 221 in her collegiate debut at the Mirimichi Golf Club in Millington, Tenn., finishing seventh overall.  A native of Gislavad, Sweden, Lundh contributed to the Lady Choctaws' overall score of 885, good for the overall tournament win in the Joe and Lee Duncan Invitational, the first in program history.  On the weekend, Lundh shot a 68 in the first round, 80 in the second, and 73 in the third round.  

Dotson had an explosive week on the pitch, and was responsible for three goals including a brace in the Choctaws 10-1 win over Tougaloo and a crucial goal as a substitute in the Choctaws 2-1 win on the road at Union.

The women's golf team will be back in action next week in San Destin, Fla., at the Golfweek Division II Invitational on Monday, Oct. 2 and Tuesday, Oct. 3., while Choctaw soccer will face off with rival Delta State University on Friday, Sept. 29 in a home match at 3:30 p.m.
