ATLANTA, Ga. -- Mississippi College Track and Field is embarking on a journey east on I-20 to the Peach State for a significant event - The Georgia Tech Invitational. This two-day contest, commencing on Friday and Saturday, April 19th-20th, at 10:00 AM CST, is one of the most thrilling events in track and field in the Southeast and will start off with the Men's Hammer Throw.
This year's lineup highlights several Choctaw athletes who have secured NCAA DII provisional standards and national qualifying marks.
Notable athletes to watch on the men's side include two reigning GSC performers of the week, Jan Lucas Becker and
Bryan Puckett. Jan will run as the No. 1 seed in the Men's 5,000m Run, while Puckett is set to throw in the Men's Hammer and Shot Put. The current GSC leader in the 1500m,
Cole Benoit, will take on the fast heat of his specialty event, the Men's 1500 meter run. Another conference leader,
Ben Woolhouse, will vault in the Men's Pole Vault, an event where he is a 2 x GSC Champion. The 400-meter dynamic duo,
Niklas Klei and
Grayson Foster will also be racing in two heats of the 400 that are shaping up to be crowd favorites.
Looking at the women's side, Shot Put school record holder and GSC leader
Rashanna Thorne will showcase her skills in both the Women's Hammer Throw and Shot Put, hoping to improve her impressive marks. Another GSC leader,
Lauren Wallace, will participate in the women's 1500-meter and 800m runs. Women's 3,000m Steeplechase school record
Bre Bell will return in the event, aiming to beat her time that already stands No. 1 in the GSC and No. 26 in NCAA DII. Another school record holder,
Emily Berry, will run in the Women's 5,000m, an incredible opportunity to move herself up in the rankings. A member of the Mississippi College Women's DMR awarded All-American status,
Hilary Udechukwu, will be back in action in the Women's 400m, trying to beat her personal best.

The Men's 800m Choctaw squad will be a stacked affair, with
