CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College softball recognizes five standout softball players named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-South Region teams. The honorees include two players on the prestigious First Team and three on the Second Team, underscoring the Choctaws' strong performance this season.
First Team All-South Region
McCall Lee, Catcher McCall Lee's stellar season behind the plate earned her a spot on the First Team All-South Region. Lee's defensive prowess and leadership have been instrumental in guiding the Choctaws' pitching staff, while her offensive contributions have been significant. This season, Lee posted a .379 batting average, with 67 hits, 16 home runs, 42 RBIs, and a .701 slugging percentage. She was also named the 2024 First Team All-GSC and Co-Gold Glove GSC recipient. Lee's extensive accolades include the 2023 GSC Player of the Year, 2023 NFCA South Region Player of the Year, and 2023 NFCA First Team All-American among others.
Kamryn Eaton, DP or Utility/Non-Pitcher Kamryn Eaton's versatility and offensive power secured her place on the First Team. Eaton has been a critical part of the lineup, providing clutch hits and maintaining a high batting average throughout the season. In 2024, Eaton recorded a .397 batting average, 12 home runs, 44 RBIs, and a .750 slugging percentage. Her impressive performance earned her the 2023 First Team All-GSC as a Designated Player and 2023 NFCA Third Team All-American.
Second Team All-South Region
Camryn Bailey, Pitcher Camryn Bailey earned Second Team honors with her impressive work in the circle. Bailey has been a reliable and dominant force for the Choctaws, consistently delivering strong performances and demonstrating exceptional control and endurance. This season, Bailey posted a 2.68 ERA, 26-5 record, and 209 strikeouts over 183 innings. She was a three-time GSC Pitcher of the Week and broke Mississippi College's records for most wins and strikeouts in a season. Bailey was also named 2024 First Team All-GSC.
Jordan LaFosse, Shortstop Jordan LaFosse's exceptional play at shortstop landed her a spot on the Second Team. LaFosse has been a defensive anchor for the Choctaws. Her offensive contributions have also been significant, leading the team with a .401 batting average, 14 home runs, and 61 RBIs. LaFosse's accolades include being a two-time First Team All-GSC selection.
Shelby Samples, Outfield Shelby Samples rounded out Mississippi College's Second Team selections with her dynamic play in the outfield. This season, she maintained a .378 batting average, 13 doubles, and 42 RBIs. Samples' consistent performance earned her First Team All-GSC honors in 2024, following her previous recognition in 2023.
