Erby Joins MC Volleyball Coaching Staff

CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College volleyball has announced the hiring of Courtney Erby as an assistant volleyball coach, bringing a strong background in player development, recruiting, and program management to the Choctaws.

Erby joins MC after serving as head coach at Champion Christian College during the 2024 season, where she oversaw all aspects of the program, including practice planning, competition strategy, recruiting, and team operations. Prior to her promotion to head coach, she spent nearly a year as an assistant and volunteer coach with the program, helping build its foundation through recruiting, fundraising, and player development.

"We are excited to welcome Courtney to Mississippi College," said head coach Bentley Odom. "Her passion for developing student-athletes, combined with her experience in recruiting and program organization, makes her a great fit for our program and culture."

In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Erby currently serves as a head coach with Fearless Elite Volleyball Academy, where she works with athletes ages 10–17. In that role, she designs training sessions, implements advanced offensive and defensive systems, and guides athletes through the college recruiting process.

Erby also brings prior collegiate experience from Lyon College, where she served as an assistant and interim head coach from 2021–22. During her tenure, she contributed to scouting reports, practice planning, and strength and conditioning programs while monitoring player development.

Her coaching résumé also includes time at Valentine Community School and White River Juniors, along with volunteer experience at Lake Hamilton Junior High.

A former student-athlete, Erby earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Lyon College in 2022, where she was a member of the volleyball program on scholarship. She is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
