CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi Christian University's historic women's tennis season added another milestone Tuesday as Emily Buchanan and Ann Cabot Stockett earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-America honors for the 2025-26 season.
Buchanan was named an ITA Singles All-American after finishing among the top 20 players in the final ITA Division II National Singles Rankings. She also earned ITA Doubles All-America honors alongside Stockett after the duo finished among the top 10 teams in the final national doubles rankings.
The honors cap a remarkable season for both student-athletes and one of the greatest years in program history for the Choctaws.
Buchanan becomes one of the nation's elite players after helping lead MC to a 27-2 record, a Gulf South Conference championship season and the program's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II National Semifinals. Earlier this week, Buchanan also earned ITA All-America recognition in both singles and doubles competition.
Stockett's doubles All-America selection comes after a breakout season in which she partnered with Buchanan at the top of the lineup and played a key role in the Choctaws' postseason success. The pair consistently delivered crucial victories throughout the spring and clinched the doubles point in several of MC's biggest matches.
The All-America honors follow a historic postseason run for the Choctaws. MC advanced through the NCAA South Regional before defeating defending national powerhouse Barry University in the national quarterfinals. The Choctaws followed with a victory over Columbus State to reach the NCAA Division II National Semifinals in Surprise, Arizona.
Mississippi Christian University's season ended with a narrow 4-3 loss to Catawba in the national semifinals, finishing one point shy of a berth in the national championship match.
The Choctaws completed the season with a 27-2 overall record, including an undefeated 8-0 mark in Gulf South Conference play and a perfect 10-0 record in road matches. The team finished the year ranked among the nation's top programs after establishing itself as a national contender under head coach Michael Ward and assistant coaches Stan and Colleen Roberts.
Buchanan was one of 20 players nationwide to earn ITA Singles All-America honors, while Buchanan and Stockett were one of only 10 doubles teams selected as ITA Doubles All-Americans in Division II women's tennis.
