CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi Christian University senior middle hitter
Rhaia Davey has been selected to the 2026 Gulf South Conference Volleyball Preseason All-Conference Team, while the Choctaws were picked to finish seventh in the league's preseason coaches poll.
Davey enters the 2026 season as one of the GSC's players to watch after earning a spot on the 10-member preseason all-conference team. The Baton Rouge, La., native grabbed All-GSC laurels after the 2025 season, helping the squad to the conference tournament.Â
MC also had three players named to the GSC Newcomers to Watch List, giving the Choctaws one of the conference's more prominent groups of newcomers.

Ava Rothe of Kiel, Wis., were also selected.
The Choctaws were picked to finish seventh in the 2026 GSC Volleyball Coaches Preseason Poll, collecting 41 points. Alabama Huntsville was selected as the preseason favorite, receiving seven first-place votes and 79 points. Trevecca Nazarene followed in second with 71 points and two first-place votes, while Lee was third with 65 points and one first-place vote.
Montevallo was picked fourth with 51 points, followed by Christian Brothers with 44, Valdosta State with 43 and MC with 41. West Alabama, Union and AUM rounded out the poll.
The Choctaws open the season on Friday, Aug. 28 in the Dallas Classic, hosted by Dallas Baptist University.
