THOMASVILLE, Ga. — Mississippi Christian University men's and women's tennis turned in a strong showing during fall competition over the weekend, with both programs capturing championships at the Glen Arven Invitational.

The tournament in Thomasville featured a field that included West Alabama, Valdosta State, West Florida, Lee and NCAA Division I Florida State. The event was part of Mississippi Christian's fall schedule as the Choctaws continue preparations for their championship season in the spring. 

The MC men's team captured the Glen Arven Invitational title for the first time, completing the weekend without dropping a court in its finished matches.

Mississippi Christian swept West Alabama, Valdosta State, West Florida and Florida State during the tournament. The victories over West Florida and Florida State gave the Choctaws a pair of wins over Division I opponents during the weekend.

The Choctaws' performance against Florida State was highlighted by victories against the bottom half of the Seminoles' lineup, helping MC secure one of its biggest results of the fall.

Mississippi Christian was also in a strong position against Lee before the match was halted because of a lightning delay. The Choctaws led 1-0 and were at match point on the second court when play was stopped, while Lee held a one-set advantage on the third court.

The weekend continued a strong stretch for an MC men's program that finished the 2026 spring season 16-8 and advanced to the Gulf South Conference Championship semifinals.
