CLEVELAND, Tenn. — Mississippi Christian lost to Lee 2-1 on Saturday at Ray Conn Sports Complex. The Choctaws generated seven of their nine shots in the second half and put four shots on goal overall, while Lee finished with a 12-9 shot advantage. The match was marked by contact, with the teams combining for 29 fouls and Lee receiving three yellow cards.
Lee created the first chances with a corner at 11:27 and a Thomas Stift shot that went high, but MC opened the scoring when
Benjamin Ellis scored at 14:30 for a 1-0 lead. The Blue and Gold later added a corner kick of their own in the 19th minute. Lee answered with pressure later in the half, as
Elliot Duffy saved attempts from Andreas Aspris at 36:18 and Matias Milla Munoz at 36:39 before Stift scored at 36:39 to tie the match at 1-1. MC had a late chance when
Matheus Poubel shot high at 38:33, while Duffy added another save on Simpson Moore at 44:32 before the half ended tied 1-1.
Duffy made an early second-half save on Reed Shunkwiler at 47:00, and Lee followed with a corner kick at 49:16 before a cluster of fouls around the 56th minute. At 56:14, Andreas Aspris scored off Ole Backfisch's assist to put Lee ahead 2-1. The Choctaws pushed back with Gabriel Paes e Sa's shot wide right at 68:17 and two
Karim Gegg shots on frame that Charles Carriglitto saved at 73:39, while Lee also generated multiple chances and a corner in the same stretch. The final push included

Ellis scored an unassisted goal, converting his only shot and putting it on goal. Gegg paced the Choctaws with three shots, including two on goal. Duffy played all 90 minutes in goal and finished with four saves.
