JACKSON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men and women's outdoor track and field teams traveled down Interstate 20 and 55 to compete in the Belhaven University Invitational on Saturday, April 17. MC combined to grab 13 event wins.

Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, April 12 as it hosts the Mike McMillan Twilight Invitational. Meet time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

EVENT WINS
- The men's 4x100 relay team posted a time of 41.35. The quartet of
Rakeem Wilson,
Will Grames,
Daviciea McCartney and
Fabio Palmieri represented the Choctaws.

Emma Langley captured the women's 800-meter crown with a time of 2:13.44

Ava Dickerson posted a time of 5:08.16 to grab the women's 1,500-meter title.

Adam Gomez proved victorious in the men's 5,000 meters with a time of 15:15.49.

Emily Berry brought home the women's 5,000-meters title with a time of 18:27.63.

Al Ferrill finished atop the men's hammer throw field as he posted a toss of 48.62 meters (159' 6"). Ferrill added a championship in the shot put with a throw of 14.78 meters.

A.B. Williams won the men's discus with a toss of 46.64 meters (153')
- McCartney was crowed the men's long jump champion as he garnered a leap of 7.17 meters (23'6. 25").

Tytavia Hardy won the women's long jump as she posted a distance of 5.34 meters.

Chris Webber took the top honor in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase as he posted a time of 9:58.15.
- The men's 4x400 relay squad of
Dalton Dempsey,
Connor Stewart,
Jake Russell and
Logan Lucas took the top place as it posted a time of 3:19.99.
- The women's 4x400 relay team (
Ereyonna Gore, Meghan Beccera, Lesie Baxter, Langley)Â brought home the crown in the event as it posted a time of 4:03.80.

TOP 10 MEN FINISHES
- McCartney took bronze in the men's 110 hurdles as he recorded a time of 14.47.
- Palmieri finished fifth in the men's 100 meters as he recorded a time of 10.77.
- Five Choctaws finished in the top 10 of the men's 400 meters. Palmieri led the unit with a time of 48.27 to take fourth. Dempsey finished right behind Palmieri with a time of 48.58. Grames came in seventh with a time of 49.54. Wilson placed ninth with a 49.94. Russell finished up the grouping with a time of 50.13 in 10th place.
- A Choctaw quartet placed in the top 10 of the 800 meters led by Stewart in third with a time of 1:59.95.
Allen Fletcher finished in fifth with a time of 2:04.59.
Preston Noland grabbed seventh as he entered a time of 2:05.81. Lucas finished in 10th with a time of 2:07.08.
- A MC trio finished in the top 10 of the 1,500 meters.
Alec Beers led the charge for the Navy and Gold with a time of 4:09.44 in fourth. Lucas finished one spot back with a time of 4:12.48. Noland finished seventh with 4:13.46.

Caleb Hall took silver with a 15:21.79 with
Jacob Britt in third with a time of 15:27.34.
Peyton Brassfield finished fourth with a 15:49.84.

Damon Wright joined Ferrill in the top five of the hammer as he posted a throw of 34.11 meters. Wright finished second in the shot put with a throw of 14.17 meters while Williams came in third with a toss of 13.87 meters.

Zach McManus and Stewart joined McCartney in the top 10 of the long jump. McManus posted a jump of 6.62 meters in third while Stewart finished ninth with a distance of 5.96 meters.

Mason Quimby took second in the high jump with a leap of 1.80 meters.

Austin Flynn took silver in the steeplechase as he clocked a time of 10:15.96 and finished behind teammate Webber.
- Quimby finished fifth in the javelin as he posted a throw of 43.11 meters. McManus finished ninth in the event with a toss of 37.68 meters.

TOP 10 WOMEN FINISHES

Tytavia Hardy finished second in the women's 100-meter hurdles as she clocked a time of 14.52. She added her second, silver-medalist finish of the day with a height of 1.60 meters in the high jump. Ryleight Borbash finished fourth in the event with a leap of 1.50 meters.
- Six Lady Choctaws finished in the top 10 of the 800 meters.
Jazmin Hernandez finished second behind event champion and teammate Langley. Hernandez posted a time of 2:17.16.
Leslie Baxter helped MC grab the top three spots as she posted a time of 2:21.65. Beccera finished fifth with a time of 2:25.67. Dickerson took sixth with a 2:26.44.
Kylie Smith rounded out the group in ninth with a time of 2:34.94.
- Led by Dickerson, MC placed four in the top five of the 1,500 meters.
Caroline Perry took silver with a time of 5:11.85.
Shelby Dean grabbed fourth as she entered a time of 5:20.65 and
Elizabeth Speed finished fifth with a time of 5:25.25.

Kiara Vance and
Autumn Frost both finished in the top 10 of the discus. Vance took silver with a toss of 37.29 meters while Frost was ninth in the field with a throw of 25.75 meters. The duo finished second and third in the shot put. Frost took silver with a throw of 10.91 meters while Vance grabbed bronze with a 10.60-meters throw.
- Vance added to her day with a throw of 35.93 meters to grab fourth in the hammer.
- Gore finished seventh in the 200 meters with a time of 26.47.
