LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its 2021-22 Academic Teams along with the 2021-22 All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors with four Mississippi College Lady Choctaw softball players receiving honors.

Kamryn Eaton,
Jenna Ergle, and
Brooke Fagan were each tabbed to the NFCA All Academic list for their achievements in the classroom in the 2021-22 academic year. The Gulf South Conference saw seven teams and 88 student-athletes earn the academic recognition.

INDIVIDUAL SCHOLAR-ATHLETES
Of the seven GSC teams listed, West Alabama led the charge with a 3.62 grade point average (GPA). Shorter (3.6) and Auburn Montgomery (3.5822) rounded out the top-three GSC programs. They were followed by Lee (3.339), Valdosta State (3.25), Union (3.207) and Alabama Huntsville (3.199).
The GSC's 88 Scholar-Athlete award-winners hailed from nine different teams across the league. Shorter and West Alabama each had 15 student-athletes received the annual honor. AUM followed closely behind with 14 honorees. UAH (11), Lee (9), West Florida (8), Union (6), VSU (6), and Mississippi College (4) each also had student-athletes recognized.
The 2021-22 Easton/NFCA honors recognized 97 Division II teams and 1,646 Div. II athletes, who earned a GPA of 3.5 or better. All nominations were submitted by NFCA member head coaches and recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories.
