CLINTON, Miss. --- Holland Williams has been named the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week, the league announced Tuesday, following a strong three-match stretch on the road for the Choctaws.
It is the second honor for the Prattville, Ala., native in her debut season. She is one of two Choctaws to earn a conference weekly award this season, joining
Samarin Kipple, who picked up defensive player of the week on Sept. 16.
Williams delivered an efficient performance across the week, highlighted by a standout showing in MC's five-set win over Montevallo. She tallied a school-record and GSC-leading 11 total blocks, including two solos and nine assisted. She added seven kills on a .313 hitting percentage in the victory. She concluded her week with three kills against nationally ranked West Florida
Mississippi College returns to action this Thursday in A.E. Wood Coliseum when the Choctaws host Union University in one of two matches to close out the 2025 regular season. First serve is 6 p.m.
