BOSSIER CITY, La. --- Mississippi College women's golf claimed first place at the Hal Sutton Invitational with a final score of 614, highlighted by standout performances from
Sydney Moss, who finished at 149 (+5), and
Sofia Mendez, who shot a 150 (+6).

The Blue and Gold bested Jacksonville College, which finished second place, by 70-plus strokes over the two rounds.

Moss led the team, finishing first individually with a score of 149 (+5), shooting a 76 (+4) in the first round and improving to a 73 (+1) in the second. Mendez followed closely, securing second place with a total of 150 (+6), marking a notable recovery from a 79 (+7) in the first round to a 71 (-1) in the second.

Ashlynd Madden contributed to the team's success by finishing fourth with a 156 (+12), showing consistency by improving from an 82 (+10) in the first round to a 74 (+2) in the second.
Callie Mobley, competing as an individual, finished third overall with a total of 154 (+10).
Rilee Hilliker demonstrated resilience, posting a significant improvement in her second round, scoring a 79 (+7) after an initial 97 (+25).

The Choctaws will be back in action on Tuesday, March 31, as it competes in Columbus, Ga., at the Lady Cougar Classic, hosted by Columbus State.
