DICKSON, Tenn. --- Mississippi College women's golf positioned itself firmly in the title chase Tuesday at the Gulf South Conference Women's Golf Championship, sitting second after two rounds at Greystone Golf Club.

The Choctaws posted a 36-hole total of 609 (304-305), trailing only West Florida, which leads the tournament at 602 (290-312). Montevallo is close behind in third at 610, with Lee (613) and Trevecca Nazarene (624) rounding out the top five.

MC showcased balance throughout its lineup, placing all five scoring golfers inside the top 20 individually.
Ashlynd Madden led the Choctaws with a two-round score of 151 (+7), good for a tie for sixth after improving by five shots in round two with a 1-over 73.

Allie Myers followed closely at 152 (+8), tying for ninth, while
Sofia Mendez and
Sydney Moss each carded 154 (+10) to sit tied for 15th. Ana Quintanilla Gutierrez rounded out the scoring five at 157 (+13), tied for 19th.

West Florida was paced by Millie Thompson, who holds a share of the individual lead at 145 (+1) after rounds of 70 and 75. The Argonauts built their advantage with a tournament-best 290 in the opening round and maintained enough cushion despite a higher second-round score.

Trevecca Nazarene's Mattie Goad sits second individually at 147 (+3), while Lee's Emilia Nordström (149, +5) holds third. Montevallo placed two golfers inside the top six, with Francesca De Roover (150, +6) and Angelina Oliveri (151, +7) helping keep the Falcons within striking distance of the lead.

With just eight strokes separating first-place West Florida and third-place Montevallo - and Mississippi College squarely in between ā the final round sets up a tight race for the conference title.
