CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College women's golf swept the Gulf South Conference weekly awards with
Ashlynd Madden and
Allie Myers picking up accolades, as announced by the conference office on Thursday, April 16.

Madden turned in a standout performance to lead the Choctaws to a team title at the Lee & Joe Duncan Invitational, earning medalist honors with a three-round total of 221 (+5). Madden opened with a 74 before surging into the lead with a tournament-best 67 (-5) in the second round, the lowest round of the event. She finished the tournament with an 80 in the final round to secure the individual victory by four strokes.

Myers delivered a strong performance, finishing tied for fourth with a three-round total of 229 (+13). Myers opened with a 77 and followed with an impressive 73 (+1) in the second round, positioning herself among the tournament's top contenders. She closed with a 79 to secure her top-five finish in a competitive field.

The Choctaws claimed victory at the Invitational, finishing with a total score of 901 over three rounds. The team led the field after a strong second round of 291, followed by a 310 in the final round, securing a substantial 56-stroke lead over Christian Brothers, who finished second.

MC turns its attention to the Gulf South Conference Tournament on Monday, Apr. 20. The three-day event will be played April 20-22 at the GreyStone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn.
