DICKSON, Tenn. --- Mississippi College men's golf remains firmly in the hunt after two rounds of the 2026 Gulf South Conference Men's Golf Championship, powered by a record-setting performance from Joao Iglesias and a balanced team effort at Greystone Golf Club.

The Choctaws sit third overall at 573 (+5), trailing tournament leader West Florida (565, -11) and second-place Lee (567, -9) heading into the final round. Union (Tenn.) follows closely in fourth at 574 (+6), with Valdosta State and Trevecca Nazarene tied for fifth.

Iglesias has been the centerpiece of MC's charge, holding the individual lead at 135 (-9) after rounds of 66 and 69. His opening-round 66 tied the lowest first-round score in tournament history and set the tone for the Choctaws' strong showing.

Todd McKie also delivered a steady performance, sitting third individually at 140 (-4) after back-to-back rounds of 70. Jack McKie (149, +5),
Zach Robertson (150, +6) and
Ben Eichelberger (154, +10) rounded out the team scoring.

UWF continues to set the pace in the team standings behind a consistent lineup, with three players tied for fifth at 142 (-2). Lee remains within striking distance thanks to Drew Zielinski, who sits second individually at 138 (-6), and a trio of players at 142 (-2).

Union (Tenn.) has also stayed in contention, led by Lane Carr (141, -3), while Valdosta State and Trevecca Nazarene have relied on balanced scoring to remain in the top five.
