Jordan Pritchard and freshman
Marina Rizk have been named Mississippi College Renasant Bank Athletes of the Week, it was announced on Monday (May 6).

Pritchard (Painesville, Ohio) took home the gold medal in the 1,500m Run at the Gulf South Conference Championships in Rome, Ga. His time of 3:55.62 was over a second better than the second-place finisher, while
Jake Russell was the bronze medalist in the event with a time of 3:58.00.
Pritchard and the Choctaws scored 108.5 points to finish 3rd at the meet behind Lee and UAH.

Rizk (Nasr City, Cairo, Egypt) was the gold medalist in the Pole Vault at the Gulf South Conference Championships, setting a new championships record with a vault of 3.50m, besting the previous mark of 3.45m by Bobbi LaBrant in 2016.
Rizk and the Lady Choctaws racked up 83.5 points to finish 4th in the team standings behind Lee, UAH and West Georgia.

Mississippi College is a private Christian university located in Clinton, Mississippi with an enrollment of over 5,000 students. MC recently finished their transition process back to NCAA Division II and the Gulf South Conference and will be competing for conference and national championships in the 2016-17 academic year.
