COLUMBUS, Ga. --- The Mississippi College men's golf team finished the 2021 spring regular season at the Cougar Invitational, hosted by Columbus State University at Green Island Country Club.
The Choctaws finished 13th with a team score of 926 (+86) over the three rounds in eastern Georgia.
JJ Logue was MC's top finisher, shooting a two-day score of 228 (+18) to take a tie for 46th, firing a team-best score of 72 (+2) on Tuesday.
David Barry shot a 233 (+23) to finish tied for 65th, while
Parker Brooks and
Adam Murphree finished tied for 72nd with a 242 (+32).
The hosts, Columbus State, won the team title with a score of 850 (+10), finishing four shots ahead of West Florida (854, +14). Lee University finished 3rd with a team score of 867 (+27).
Jordan Doull of CSU won the individual title with a three-round score of 202 (-8), finishing eight shots clear of Beck Burnette of Lee (210, E) in 2nd place.
The Choctaws are slated to wrap up the 2021 spring season at the GSC Championships, which will be played on April 18-19 in Mobile, Ala. at RTJ Magnolia Grove.
