HUMBLE, Texas --- MC men's golf wrapped up the Houston Classic on Feb. 10 at the Golf Club of Houston, finishing 11th overall (+37) in a deep NCAA Division II field hosted by Southern Nazarene. The Choctaws competed against multiple ranked programs, including three in the top 25 and six in the top 50.
Ben Eichelberger paced the Choctaws with a three-round total of +8 to finish 33rd. The Brandon, Miss., native and former Brandon Bulldog was even after the first round and was two over after the first day of competition. He finished plus six to round out the three-day event.
Zach Robertson closed strong with a 74 in the final round to place 47th at +11. The former SFA stand out closed out his final two rounds at two over following his first round at plus seven.
Owen Wallace and Todd McKie finished tied for 50th at +12, while Jack McKie completed the lineup for MC in 68th (+16)
No. 23 Dallas Baptist captured the team title at -14, followed by No. 46 Harding (+2) and No. 3 Central Oklahoma (+10). No. 39 Midwestern State and No. 34 Missouri–St. Louis rounded out the top five.
MC returns to action Monday, Mar. 9 in the Greenwood Invitational, hosted by Lander University.
