MOBILE, Ala. --- Junior JJ Logue shot a second-round score of 67 (-5) to jump up into a 13th-place first-day finish after the opening two rounds of the Gulf South Conference Championships.

The Choctaws are in 9th (594, +18) as a team after the first 36 holes at RTJ Magnolia Grove. The final round is scheduled for Monday morning.

Logue (Belfast, Northern Ireland) had six birdies and one bogey over the second 18 holes, including four birdies on the front nine. His score was tied for the third best of the second round.

Senior David Barry shot a second-round score of 70 (-2) to score a 144 (E) on the opening day and be in a tie for 14th.

The other three finishers for the Choctaws were Force Choi (153, T-40th), Adam Murhphree (158, 45th) and Grant Mahaney (160, T-48th).

West Florida leads the tournament after the opening day, shooting 554 (-22) to sit 10 shots ahead of 2nd-place Lee (564, -12).

Individually, Elias Haavisto of West Florida has the opening-day lead with a score of 132 (-12), sitting four shots ahead of second-place Alejandro Restrepo (UWF) and Evan Spence (Lee).

The final 18 holes are scheduled to be played beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning.
