HOUSTON, Texas -- The Mississippi College Choctaws golf team finished 9th at the Houston Classic after two days out on the course at the Golf Club of Houston.
MC shot +60 with an overall score of 924 after three rounds (307, 309, 308). Arkansas Tech took home the top spot at the Classic, finishing as the only team on the leaderboard under par at -4 with rounds of 293, 281, and 286 for an overall of 860.
JJ Logue led MC with a +8 score of 224 overall after round scores of 77, 73, and 74. Logue finished the Classic tied for 16th overall on the leaderboard.
Thomas Kubata shot +13 with scores of 74 in each of the first and third rounds while
Adam Murphree shots +17 with a second round best 76.
Cameron Bridger and
Cameron Little rounded out the Choctaws lineup with Bridger shooting a first round best of 78 and Little shooting a second round total of 80 cap off opening week.
MC returns to the course on February 21 with an away outing at Christian Brothers in Tunica, Miss. Tee time is set for 8 a.m. with two days of golf scheduled.Â
