BIRMINGHAM. Ala. — The Gulf South Conference recently announced the yearly major award winners and All-GSC selections for the 2022-23 men's golf season, as voted by the conference's head coaches, with. JJ Logue being tabbed to the 1st Team All-GSC list.
On the season, Logue captured his first individual championship in his MC career at the Derrall Foreman Invitational, placing 1st place after shooting scores of 68 in round one, 67 in round two, and 67 in round three back on April 6-7.
At the event, Logue had six birdies including two birdies to finish off holes 9 and 18, both par 5's, to end round one at -3. He had four birdies in round two and six birdies in round three. On the par four 8th hole, Logue consistently birdied the hole, shooting a three in each of the three rounds at 8.
At the Buccaneer Classic, Logue broke 70, with a 69 for round two, cashing in at T9 on the leaderboard with a round one score of 73 and 74 in the final day of action. Logue was named GSC Player of the Week twice on the season, earning 1st Team All-GSC honors.

Lee's Beck Burnette was named Golfer of the Year and Shorter's Blake Henriques was tabbed as Freshman of the Year. Meanwhile West Florida's Steve Fell was named Coach of the Year.
Burnette earned top golfer accolades for the second consecutive year and became the seventh player in conference history to win back-to-back awards. During the season, the senior won finished among the top five in nine of 10 tournaments, including four wins as he averaged a conference-low 69.52 per round.
Henriques took home the conference's top freshman award, becoming the first Shorter player to earn postseason individual honors. The rookie had six top-10 finishes in nine tournaments, highlighted by two wins, while averaging 71.54 per round for fourth among conference leaders.
Fell claimed his conference-leading 18th top coaching accolade after guiding the Argonauts to their 19th GSC tournament title. The Argonauts averaged a conference-low 287.29 per round this season in 28 rounds and recorded three tournaments wins.
In addition to the major awards, the league's head coaches also selected the All-GSC team. Lee and West Florida had three all-conference selections apiece, while Shorter had two. Delta State, Mississippi College, and Union were each represented by one honoree.
