MILLINGTON, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College women's golf team sits in the top spot of the Joe and Lee Duncan Invitational following the first two rounds on Monday, Sept. 18 as the team fired a 592 at the Mirimichi Golf Club.
 
The Choctaw opened the day with a strong first round score of 290. The opening round score was eight strokes better than the next closest team, Rhodes College with a 298. The Blue and Gold fired a 302 to wrap up the day. The team score stood third-best for teams in the round.
 
Sarah Hodson leads the way for MC following the two rounds. Hodson shot a 71 in the opening round and improved her score by a stroke in the second round to collect a two-round score of 141 in second place – one stroke back of the individual leader, Annie Piggott of Millsaps College.
 
Ida Lundh holds the second spot on the Choctaw squad as she's tied for eighth. Lundh shot a 68 in her first collegiate round and added a score of 80 in the second round for a day score of 148.
 
Hannah Hinckley just missed out on the third Choctaw in the top 10 as she sits tied for 12th with a two-round score of 150. She bettered her first-round score by four strokes in the second round as she shot a 73.
 
Jenna Belton stands in 17th after the first day. She shot a 74 in the opening round and followed with an 80 in the second round to compile a score of 154. Fran Herrera wrapped up the Choctaw scoring as she sits in 32nd with a score of 164. She bettered her score in the first round by six strokes as she shot a 79 in the second round.
 
Mississippi College closes out the final round of the Joe and Lee Duncan Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 19 with a tee time at 8:30 a.m.
