2024 Baseball Schedule Released

CLINTON, Miss. --- With less than a month until the start of the season, Mississippi College head coach Jeremy Haworth released the 2024 Choctaw Baseball Schedule.

The slate, which contains 47 contests, opens with 11 consecutive home games and 12 in the opening month of February. The early home game streak is a part of 28 scheduled for Frierson Field at Dickins-Scoper Stadium this season.

"We are excited to play a challenging non-conference schedule with an extremely competitive Gulf South Conference schedule," said Haworth. "This conference is always tough and we think our non-conference opponents help prepare us for the conference portion early on and also help us build our resume as the season progresses."

Intertwined in the ledger are 30 Gulf South Conference affairs with 15 on the road and 15 at home. The conference slate opens on Friday, Feb. 16 against the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a three-game series on the road at Auburn University at Montgomery the following weekend.

Among the 2024 opponents, five made NCAA Division II Regionals last season, including three from within the conference in the South Regional. Valdosta State University, University of Montevallo and University of West Florida each make the trip to Clinton this season on the heels of their postseason appearances.

Arkansas Tech University and Southern Arkansas University earned berths to the Central Regional. The Choctaw have a home-and-home series with the Muleriders with the first in Clinton to cap February. The Blue and Gold make a return trip to Magnolia, Ark., in April. MC hosts ATU to start the month.

West Florida, Montevallo and Southern Arkansas each finished in the top 25.

MC closes out the 2024 docket in Cleveland, Miss., against in-state and conference foe, Delta State University, Apr. 26-27.

Mississippi College opens the season on Thursday, Feb. 1 as it hosts Emmanuel (Ga.) University in the first of a four-game series.
