JT Vance was named Gulf South Conference Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, March 19. It marks the second weekly honor for Vance this season.

The Union, Miss., native led the GSC in hits and RBI during the four-game week. He compiled eight hits, including four home runs, and nine runs driven in. He matched a career-high with four hits in the Choctaws' come-from-behind victory over Henderson State University, including a pair of home runs, with the last giving the Blue and Gold its only lead in the game, it walked-off with his solo home run.

Vance added two more multiple-hit performances during the three-game, GSC series with the University of Montevallo. He opened the series going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and run scored. He concluded the series going 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored in the series finale. The junior compiled a home run in each of those affairs.

He leads the GSC in home runs this season with 10 and ranks in the top 10 in NCAA Division II. He also ranks in the top 20 in the conference in hits, RBI, runs, and slugging percentage.

Vance earned GSC Player of the Week on February 13, 2024 and added National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Player of the Week later in the week.

Mississippi College returns to action on Tuesday, March 19 as it travels to Jackson, Tenn., for a non-conference tilt against Union University. First pitch against the Bulldogs is at 3 p.m.
