LAKELAND, Fla. --- Mississippi College was represented on the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-South Region Team as Choctaws,
JT Vance and
Caleb Reese, earned spots on the 32-member list, as announced by the association on Wednesday, May 15.

It is the second NCBWA All-Region selection for Reese and the fourth of his career. He compiled three all-region accolades during the 2021 campaign. It marks the first for Vance.

Vance and Reese were catalyst at the plate for the Choctaws. The duo combined for 28 of the program's 60 home runs this season, which are the second most in a single season by the program. Vance led the team with a .359 batting average, 61 hits and 52 RBI during the season along with his team-best 14 home runs. The Union, Miss., native totaled 12 doubles, which was second most on the team.

Reese, who matched Vance in home runs, paced the team with 13 doubles. He finished second on the team in batting average (.357), hits (60) and RBI (41). The Bossier City, La., product etched his name in the career record book during his tenure in the Blue and Gold. He is ranked in 12 categories as he concluded his time in the Choctaw uniform, including eight in the top five.

Earlier in the month, the duo notched All-Gulf South Conference First Team selections. 17 members from the GSC were named to the all-region squad.

Mississippi College closed the 2024 campaign with a 20-25 record. It is the first 20-plus win season for the Blue and Gold since 2019.
