LAKELAND, Fla. --- Bryce LaRocca added his second weekly accolade as he was named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association South Region Player of the Week, landing Mississippi College baseball its second consecutive conference weekly honor.

The Lake Charles, La., product picked up Gulf South Conference Player of the Week earlier in the day.
 
LaRocca slugged 1.400 and drove in 11 runs helping Mississippi College to an unblemished 4-0 week and earning Gulf South Conference Player of the Week. The senior outfielder hit a collective .533 (8-for-15) with four home runs, a double, scored seven runs, and drew three walks while also posting a .611 on-base percentage. He finished the week hitting .714 with runners on base, .667 with runners in scoring position and posting a .500 clip with bases loaded.
 
In a three-game series with Trevecca, he was a combined 7-for-11 (.636) at the plate, opening the series with a 3-for-4 performance that included seven-RBI and two homers. In the Saturday twin bill, he went 2-for-4 in game one scoring twice with one RBI, while going 2-for-3 in the finale with three-RBI and two more home runs.
 
LaRocca leads the conference in RBI and home runs and is second in slugging percentage and runs scored. He ranks in the top 10 in the league in 10 offensive categories.
 
LaRocca joins teammate Holland Townes, who garnered GSC and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association South Region Pitcher of the Week laurels one week ago.
 
Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, March 28 as it travels to the Peach State for GSC action. First at Valdosta State is slated for 4 p.m. central.
