HATTIESBURG, Miss. --- Freshman
Sarah Hodson finished Mississippi College women's golf's first-ever tournament tied for 11th at the Carey Collegiate Classic, hosted by William Carey at Canebrake Country Club.
Hodson (Raceland, La.) followed up her 78 (+6) on Monday with an 81 (+9) on Tuesday to collect a two-round score of 159 (+15). She just missed out on a top-ten finish by two strokes.
Papatsara Niamrungrueang of William Carey won the individual championship by six strokes, shooting a 140 (-4) over two rounds. Alejandra Bedoya Tobar of Loyola (LA) finished in second with a score of 146 (+2).
William Carey's "A" Team won the team title with a two-round score of 588 (+12). They won the tournament by 25 strokes over Loyola (LA). William Carey "B" (634) and Mobile (672) wrapped up the team scores from the tournament.

Jenna Belton will be back in action in the spring, opening up play on February 8th at the Badger Invitational in Mobile, Ala.
Mississippi College is a private Christian university located in Clinton, Mississippi with an enrollment of over 5,000 students. MC recently finished their transition process back to NCAA Division II and the Gulf South Conference and began competing for conference and national championships in the 2016-17 academic year.
