BOSSIER CITY, La. -- The Mississippi College Lady Choctaws golf team finished in second place at the Hal Sutton Invitational hosted by Centenary College.
The Lady Choctaws shot a +48 in the opening round with an overall score of 336, just two strokes behind first place Tyler Junior College before play was suspended due to weather conditions
Jenna Belton finished in second overall place on the individual leaderboard after shooting an 80 opening round score at the Invite.
Lydia Welborn ranked fifth on the leaderboard with an 18 hole score of 83, while
Sarah Hodson placed seventh overall with an 85.
Ellie Smith and
Malia Kossina rounded out the top ten for Mississippi College, with Smith shooting an 86, good for eighth overall, with Kossina placing an 89 and ninth on the leaderboard.
Mississippi College returns to action next Monday at the Union/Bulldog Bash beginning at 8 a.m.in Athens, Ala.
